Our new National Directory is now live and already has 170+ local listings!
|
In case you missed it, the new PMD Alliance Directory is now live and growing fast! As the Director of Communications, I have had the honor of reviewing many of the support groups, local events, exercise classes, providers, and more that community members have already submitted.
Seeing the Directory grow with each new listing has become a reliable high note in my day-to-day, bringing much-needed excitement and connectedness for me and my team. Thank you to all who have created or plan to create a listing, as well as those who've given us some great starting feedback on how to improve the platform! Your partnership remains essential not only to stock the Directory full of live services and events, but also to tell us about the stumbling points and help us make it more functional and effective for everyone.
And in the spirit of recognizing the many ways our community supports each other, below you'll find our annual PMDA Awards, celebrating folks for everything from outstanding livestream attendance to most engaged support group. Because everything you do matters and makes a difference, and all of us at PMD Alliance are so grateful to have you and your unique voice in our corner.
Sincerely,
|

Philip Giles, Director of Communications

Train Like an Olympian: The Power of Lifestyle in PD Care
|
Neurologists Indu Subramanian, MD and Bastiaan R. Bloem, MD, PhD encourage people living with PD to think like elite athletes. Treat exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress management, and socialization as core parts of treatment alongside medication. On Instagram, Julie Kurek, MD reinforces the same message, highlighting how healthy routines are powerful tools for living up to your own “Olympian”
potential.
